Me and my Children

My name is Thandeka Ntombiza Xaba. I have six children. First one is 21 years old, second one is 18 years old, some of them are twins 15 years old and another one 10 and 7 years old.

Children and I wake up in the morning because the children went to school. Everyday wash their bodys and eat morvite. They travel by bus or taxi to school.

Every morning I wake up and I go to adult Abet in Orlando East Library. I have a daughter in our class. I walk all the way to class by foot. I am oldest in our class group.

Jabulani is my first born, they did not have much money. After a few days he slept in his cement pipe, one night he heard voices, some one said, give us money, they hit him, one of them stabbed Jabulani arm with a knife then they went away.

Blood dripped from his arm, he started to walk slowly down the road, the drivers took him to the hospital, it was getting dark and cold wind was blowing.

My Life (08 November 2006)

I was born in 1963-04-10. I started school at Thabisang Orlando West Lower Primary School. I went to Doctor Vilakazi High School. I did not finish or complete my studies because I got married at a young age. My life was very good and wonderful when I was young, even after I got married. I was happy with my family

I have two kids, I love them they are wonderful. Unfortunately my husband died after a long illness. It was very painful for me and my children, but now it is better, we are carrying on with our lives.

After one year my husband had died I met someone, I thought we will be fine together because his wife had died, but I was wrong.

He was abusive now I'm no longer with him.

I'm learning at adult school, I'm trying to do well but sometimes I can't concentrate. I forget what I was doing or when I'm reading, I don't remember what I was doing or when I'm reading, I don't remember what I was reading about.

My classmates thinks I am happy, but I am not happy at all. My life is so miserable now and I'm afraid of men.

My mother is trying to do everything I need. She loves me and my children very much. I think it is not fair because she is a pensioner. I must support her not her supporting me. That is why I'm trying to learn so I can get a job and help my mother.

It is to much for her. I am old enough to look after myself and my children.

I miss my husband very much. He was a good man, He did not like to tell lies, he was always truthful. Even if we had a big problem we sat down and solve it sweet and polite. That is why I loved him very much.

Sometimes I wish if it was possible to wake someone you love from the dead.

I would wake my husband up from the dead.

I pray all the time, I hope one day God will hear my prayers. I know God loves me. I have faith because i fill great after my prayers. God will help me by setting goals and recognizing what is good for my life.
